Raicilla is an agave spirit, similar to Mezcal, made in the state of Jalisco where Tequila rules the roost. It`s production process is more in tune with Mezcal than Tequila with the agaves roasted, not steamed, and rooted in tradition.
Estancia Raicilla is distilled from the wild agave Maximiliana in La Estancia de Landeros in the Jalisco foothills. The agave is roasted for two days, then fermented naturally in open old Jack Daniel`s bourbon barrels before double distillation in copper stills. Fresh and lively on the palate with berry fruits, juniper and smoky spice.
