Essence de Dourthe is an interesting assemblage of selected parcels of vines from across the prestigious Dourthe estates. Only 6,000 bottles are produced each year, including fruit from Château Belgrave, Château Le Boscq, Château La Garde and Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac. From the excellent 2005 vintage this is a wonderfully rich and silky blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot.
