Echézeaux is the prestigious Grand Cru vineyard situated in the village of Flagey-Echézeaux, just to the north of the famous Vosne-Romanée vineyards. Encompassing an area of 37.7 hectares, this vineyard counts Domaine de la Romanée-Conti as its largest landowner, overseeing approximately 5 hectares of vines. The specific bottle is a rare expression from the 1957 vintage. Wines from that year were characterized by their initial tightness and notable acidity, which required time to mellow. It is precisely this enduring acidic structure that has preserved them through the years, and now, having reached full maturity, the fruit flavours have become more prominent.
