The esteemed rosé prestige cuvée crafted by Champagne Ruinart is a meticulous Grand Cru blend that marries Dom Ruinart Chardonnay with a finishing touch of 15% red wine from Montagne de Reims. Since its inaugural vintage in 1966, this cuvée has consistently held its place among the most exceptional rosés available. The Pinot Noir red wine hails from the Grand Cru villages of Sillery and Verzenay, where it undergoes a nine-day skin maceration process before pressing, extracting the delicate pink hue and gentle fruit tannins. The 2009 vintage spent a whole decade on the lees and finally disgorged in February 2020.
The 2009 Dom Ruinart Rosé is a very pretty, understated Champagne. Bright red fruit, blood orange, mint, rose petal, dried flowers and cinnamon are nicely lifted. This is an especially quiet, subtle Rosé, especially for the year. The blend is 85% Chardonnay, mostly from Grand Crus in the Côte des Blancs (Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger) with a touch of Montagne de Reims (Sillery), plus 15% still Pinot from Aÿ. Disgorged in 2018, dosage is 4 grams per liter.

Ruinart

Founded in Reims in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart (the nephew of legendary Benedictine monk Dom Ruinart), Ruinart is one of the oldest champagne houses in France. The Ruinart style is characterised by its supreme elegance and finesse. A key cuvée is the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs - the house’s signature champagne - made using 100% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.

The Chardonnay variety is at the heart of all of the house's cuvees, including the Ruinart Rosé Brut, which is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, mostly sourced from Premier Cru vineyards, in addition to the Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and the Ruinart Brut.
