Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay 2023 is a medium-bodied white wine from the Walker Bay region of South Africa. The Agnes Chardonnay is an impressive offering from by the Finlayson brothers at Crystallum winery. Produced from multiple vineyard sites in the Overberg and Hemel-en-Aarde sub-regions, the wine was fermented and aged in French oak barrels, with a lower percentage of new oak compared to the Crystallum Clay Shales Chardonnay. Producer note. "A precise and linear expression of chardonnay from five sites. The nose shows pineapple, light butterscotch, oatmeal and lemon peel while the palate is zippy and textured - lime, quince and forelle pear the leading flavours. A Chablis-like oyster shell minerality refines the finish."
