Pietradolce Contrada Santo Spirito 2019 is a full-bodied, single-site red wine produced from Nerello Mascalese grapes in the Contrada Santo Spirito cru of Etna, Sicily. Produced from pre-phylloxera vines on the volcanic soils of Santo Spirito, this structured, mineral-laden red offers an excellent alternative to fine Burgundy Pinot Noir or Barolo Nebbiolo. "The 2019 Etna Rosso Santo Spirito is coy in the glass, smouldering up with a delicate blend of dusty earth, dried roses and strawberries. It flows across the palate, a model of purity, with mineral-tinged red fruits and pretty inner florals. This finishes lightly structured, with a slight bitter tinge and chalk tannins.
