Colgin IX Estate Proprietary Blend 2006

Colgin IX Estate Proprietary Blend 2006 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard red wine from the Napa Valley of California. Colgin Cellars was established by Ann Colgin in 1992. Anne crafted her early vintages from vineyards near the base of the Howell Mountains in Napa Valley. Later, she acquired land on Tychson Hill and enlisted the renowned viticulturist David Abreu to oversee vineyard planting. The IX Estate Proprietary Blend is the estate`s flagship red wine, made from a blend of Bordeaux varieties, typically including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wine takes its name from the IX Estate Vineyard, which is situated in the Pritchard Hill area of Napa Valley. "From the Pritchard Hill Vineyard, the 2006 IX Proprietary Red Estate is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. The good news is that there are 1,500 cases of this cuvee. It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar.
