Clos de Tart is a 7.5-hectare monopole Grand Cru vineyard located just south of Morey-St-Denis and has remained intact since it was created in the 12th Century. With Sylvain Pitiot at the helm since 1996, quality and consistency has increased significantly in recent years, with meticulous attention to detail paid to work in the vineyard and cellar. In general, Clos de Tart Grand Cru is produced from the best plots of older vines, with the Premier Cru La Forge de Tart coming from vines that are slightly younger. This is a wine of alluring perfume, complexity and fine-boned structure, often with a remarkable capacity to age.
