Climens 1990 is a mature-vintage sweet wine from the Sauternes region of Bordeaux in south-west France. Château Climens is a Premier Cru Classé Sauternes producer and one of the leading producers of sweet wine in Bordeaux. Produced from 100% Semillon from vineyards in the Barsac appellation, Climens Sauternes is fermented in barrel and aged in barriques (30% new) for 22 months. Renowned for its elegance, finesse and profound longevity (good vintages can age well for comfortably more than 50 years), Château Climens pairs spectacularly well with Roquefort-type cheeses and foie gras. Maturer vintages complement rich but more savoury foods, including spicy Asian dishes. "Gorgeous. Yellow colour with a gold hue. Aromas of vanilla, honey and lemon, with a hint of biscuit.
