Alain Chavy Chevalier-Montrachet 2014 is a full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Grand Cru climat of Chevalier-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Alain Chavy was formed in 2003 when Alain and his brother Jean-Louis decided to split their father`s estate [Domaine Gérard Chavy], which they had previously run together. This particular release is made from his tiny parcel in the Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru. "The 2014 Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru needed a couple of minutes in the glass to awaken. It is beautifully focused albeit not as complex perhaps as either the les Pucelles of the Folatières. There are touches of green apple and a dab of apricot blossom here, but it is keeping its mineral side covered. The palate is quite opulent on the entry. This is all curves and no straight lines in the mouth, with lower acidity than the 2013 last year with a long, slightly honeyed finish that has great persistence." Neal Martin, 2015
