Clos Saint Jean is run by brothers Vincent and Pascal Maurel and is considered amongst the very finest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Sanctus Sanctorum is only produced in magnums and is made from 100% Grenache sourced from a single parcel of ancient vines in the famous lieu-dit of La Crau, matured in a combination of clay amphorae and demi-muids. The 2015 is a simply spectacular release of remarkable fruit intensity and flamboyance. It is full-bodied, multi-dimensional and impeccably balanced, surging across the palate delivering hugely enjoyable waves of rich black fruits and exotic spices, and culminating in an incredibly long finish of extraordinary depth and nuance.
