Clos Saint Jean Chateauneuf-du-Pape Sanctus Sanctorum 2010 is a full-bodied, blended red wine from the southern Rhône Valley of France. Clos Saint Jean is run by brothers Vincent and Pascal Maurel and is considered amongst the very finest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Sanctus Sanctorum is only produced in magnums and is made from 100% Grenache sourced from a single parcel of ancient vines in the famous lieu-dit of La Crau, matured in a combination of clay amphorae and demi-muids. "The greatest young wine I’ve ever tasted, the 2010 Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape Sanctus Sanctorum is a blend of 100% Grenache, from a single plot in La Crau, that is aged all in demi-muids and bottled only in magnum. It offers an unbelievable drinking experience, with insanely good aromas of kirsch liqueur, spice-box, garrigue, liquorice, and subtle floral qualities all soaring from the glass. Nothing is out of place, it never seems heavy, and is not anywhere close to over the top.
