Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee Chaupin Janasse 2012 is a product of Domaine de la Janasse, a family-owned estate established in 1967 by Aimé Sabon, who inherited vineyards from his father. This wine features 80% Grenache sourced from 60-80-year-old vines in the esteemed Chaupin vineyard. The profile includes notes of cassis and raspberries, underscored by mineral nuances, floral hints, liquorice, and a slight roasted meat character. A complex example of the region, it reflects the traditions and terroir of the Rhône Valley.
Vivid red. Expansive spice- and mineral-accented aromas of ripe black raspberry and blueberry, along with white pepper and woodsmoke nuances. Stains the palate with intense red and dark berry flavors, showing a suave blend of power and vivacity, with juicy acidity adding lift and bite. Supple tannins give shape and clarity to the long, spicy, fruit-dominated finish.
