Château Musar is one of the most iconic wineries in Lebanon, founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar. The winery is located in the Bekaa Valley, which is known for its favourable climate and rich, alluvial soils. Their red wines are typically a blend of traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan. The 2006 vintage in Lebanon was generally considered challenging due to various factors, including a cool spring and a hot summer. However, Château Musar is known for its meticulous vineyard management and winemaking techniques, which allow them to overcome difficulties and produce distinctive wines even in challenging years.
