French Malbec is mostly associated with the town of Cahors, where Château de Haute-Serre is located. Their Gran Vin is based on 90% Malbec with the additional touch of Merlot and Tannat. The wine is very dark in colour, with carmine highlights and a complex bouquet of Morello cherries, blackcurrants and spices. The freshness and fruitiness on the nose carry over beautifully to the palate, which has a long and silky finish.
