Chateau de la Soujeole Gerard Bertrand 2014

HED61216 75cl 14.5%
Château la Soujeole is another estate in the superb Gérard Bertrand stable. From the Malepère appellation just to the east of Carcassonne, in the Languedoc region of southwest France, this cuvée is made from a selection of the estate’s finest biodynamically farmed fruit and is comprised of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec (known locally as Cot). Deep ruby in colour, the 2014 bursts out of the glass with rich aromas of cassis, blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and smoked herbs. On the palate it is lush and full-bodied, with waves of rich fruit and toasty oak, gliding to a long, mineral-tinged finish.
