This is a very rare half-bottle of 1966 Chassagne-Montrachet released by Alexis Lichine & Co., the wine négociant business named after its founder. Originally born in Moscow, Lichine was a prolific wine writer and entrepreneur, who in 1987 was chosen the ‘Man of the Year’ by Decanter magazine. 1966 was a very good vintage for red Burgundy, producing wines that were balanced and consistent.
