Eben Sadie MEV Kirsten 2012 hails from a historic vineyard planted in the 1980s, situated in the esteemed Swartland region of South Africa. Sadie`s meticulous approach to viticulture is evidenced in this wine`s unique terroir expression. The vineyard, primarily cultivated with Chenin Blanc, is known for its low-yielding, dry-farmed vines. The 2012 vintage showcases a complexity derived from careful management of oxidation during vinification. This wine features vibrant acidity with a profile suggesting potential for long-term ageing. Eben Sadie, an influential figure in South African winemaking, continually pushes the boundaries of traditional practices.
The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Maltroie 1er Cru is clean and precise on the nose, with touches of lemon rind and crushed stone. The palate is taut and fresh, with plenty of lime and citrus fruit and more stony notes developing on the finish. The 2023 is a level up from 2022.
