Chablis Montee de Tonnerre Samuel Billaud Magnum 2018

Domaine Samuel Billaud Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 2018 is a full-bodied Chardonnay white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Montée de Tonnerre in the Chablis appellation of Burgundy. This 1er Cru cuvée from Samuel Billaud originates from two parcels – one in Chapelots, the other in Montée de Tonnerre itself – and is matured in a combination of stainless steel tanks and 400l oak barrels (about 25% of which are new). "It has a pretty nose of orange blossom, white peach and Japanese yuzu scents that are beautifully defined. The palate is very well balanced, with Granny Smith apples and pear on the entry, a vibrant thread of acidity, and quite a linear, taut finish that is perhaps more 2017 in style. Overall, this is a superb Montée de Tonnerre for those who like `classic` Chablis." Vinous, 2020
