Ceritas Trout Gulch Chardonnay 2020 is a single-vineyard Chardonnay from the Santa Cruz Mountains of California. Ceritas was founded by John Raytek in 2005. While not owning any vineyards themselves, Ceritas works closely with selected growers across northern California to produce terroir-led wines from classic California grape varieties. Located just 3.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, Trout Gulch lies just above the hamlet of Aptos in the southern Santa Cruz Mountains. Cooler temperatures here combined with sandy soils full of marine deposits translate to Chardonnay which spends longer time ripening on the vine, and concentrated wines with a distinct maritime character.
