In 1972, Caymus Vineyards was founded by Chuck Wagner, along with his late parents, Lorna and Charlie Sr. They began their journey with a modest production of 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fast forward to the present day, Caymus Vineyards continues to be a fully family-owned and operated venture, with the next generation now leading the charge in managing and crafting exceptional wines. Their flagship wine, Caymus Vineyard Special Selection, achieved a remarkable feat by being the sole wine to claim the top spot on Wine Spectator`s prestigious Top 100 list twice. This particular bottling hails from the 1979 vintage, and is now a fully mature wine, filled with notes of cassis, dark fruits, mushrooms, leather and forest floor.
