Calera is a prestigious wine producer in California, known for its high-quality expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It was founded by Josh Jensen in 1975, and it is located in the Mount Harlan AVA in the Gavilan Mountains. Jensen`s approach to winemaking emphasizes minimal intervention and respect for the terroir. The Jensen Vineyard is one of Calera`s most famous single vineyards, planted with Pinot Noir vines in 1975 on limestone-rich soils. The 2019 vintage was characterized by a cool and long growing season, which allowed the grapes to develop deep flavours and excellent structure.
