Bunnahabhain Canasta Finish Feis Ile

HED21134 70cl 51.2%
Bearing a maturation period of 9 years in the seldom-seen William and Humbert Canasta sherry casks, this Bunnahabhain presents a unique blend of Oloroso (75%) and Pedro Ximénez (25%) sherries. The use of Canasta casks provides an impressive duality of flavour; the Oloroso imparts a spicy touch, while the Pedro Ximénez contributes a markedly sweeter character. Released to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2023, this limited edition is a classic Bunnahabhain dram - unpeated, imbued with sherry influence, and naturally presented without any colouring or chill-filtration, preserving its authentic essence.

Bunnahabhain

Bunnahabhain

Often known as the "gateway malt" for those looking to explore the smoky malts of Islay, Bunnahabhain is more lightly peated than most other whiskies produced on the island. Situated on the north-eastern coast, the distillery name means "mouth of the river" in Gaelic.

Historically noted for a waxy, oily mouthfeel, low peat levels and a hint of sea spray, Bunnahabhain have since experimented with more heavily peated drams, in-keeping with the style of their island neighbours. The youngest age statement in the core range is 12 years old while limited edition cask finishes have won the distillery awards globally.
