Encompassing 128 hectares within the southern quarter of the Brunello appellation, the extensive Renieri estate dedicates approximately 30 hectares to vineyards. This 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is currently at an excellent drinking window, and likely to flourish for another 8-10 years. Aromas of cherry, leather, tobacco, and exotic spice grace the nose, while the palate reveals notes of plum and sour cherry, delivering a bright and dense character.
A powerful, explosive wine, Renieri's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is endowed with striking depth. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and menthol notes abound. Racy, resonant and expressive, the Riserva is quite beautiful today. The new oak is a bit evident at this stage, so I would prefer to give the wine another few years in the cellar.
