Ridolfi Brunello di Montalcino 2017 is a full-bodied Sangiovese red wine from the Montalcino sub-region of Tuscany, central Italy. Established in 2011 but tracing its family history in Tuscany back to the 13th century, Ridolfi is an exciting quality-orientated wine estate at which winemaking is overseen by former Poggio di Sotto cellar chief Gianni Maccari. The estate`s Brunello di Montalcino is produced from 100% hand harvested Sangiovese and is aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further 12 months in bottle. A hedonistic Brunello with notes of mature cherry and strawberry fruit, tar and dried herb, combined with the structure to age well for another 15 years.
- The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is deep and savory, with crushed raspberry and cherry sauce complemented by hints of tobacco and tomato leaf. This is a soft, pure effort that impresses with a mineral-tinged mix of red berries and licorice tones. It’s lightly structured with a salty flourish and residual acids that help to keep the expression lively and fresh. - The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is deep and savory, with crushed raspberry and cherry sauce complemented by hints of tobacco and tomato leaf.
