The vineyards of Poggio Antico rest on the highest hills of Montalcino, Tuscany with the vineyard area spanning 35 hectares. A classic Brunello made with 100% Sangiovese that undergoes long aging in barrel and bottle. The wine critic James Suckling describes the 2016 vintage as follows, "This is so aromatic and floral with cedar, dried roses, and black cherries. It’s full-bodied, yet so refined and tight with silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Tight and focused. Needs time to open, but shows beautiful finesse and focus. Drink after 2024."
