Established in 1978 in Tuscany, Castello Banfi was the brainchild of Italian-American siblings John and Harry Mariani. The foundation of this venture can be traced back to their father`s enterprise, Banfi Vintners, which originated in 1919 and was the top Italian wine importer in the United States during its time. Today, Castello Banfi manages vineyards across the northwestern regions of Italy, spanning from Piedmont to Chianti Classico, Bolgheri, and Montalcino. This 2004 Brunello di Montalcino has now reached a mature stage, boasting well-balanced tannins and cherry fruit characteristics. Expect an initial hint of sweetness that gradually diminishes, giving rise to savoury undertones.
