It has been aged for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks, along with second-fill wine casks. This super heavily-peated Octomore style imparts rich aromas of toasted biscuits, ripe apricots, and butterscotch, leading to a mineral smokiness on the palate, complemented by hints of peat stacks, honeysuckle, and toasted barley.
