Robert Groffier Bourgogne Rouge 2009 is a medium-bodied Pinot Noir red wine from the Burgundy region of France. Domaine Groffier is a well-respected Burgundy producer, though still somewhat undervalued compared to some of the more famous names. Over recent years, winemaker Nicolas Groffier has sought to reduce the amount of new oak used and prefers minimal racking of the domaine`s wines. With fruit coming from Vougeot and Morey, this Bourgogne Rouge is sapid with mouthwatering red and black berry fruit, and hints of sous bois and delicate wood spice.
The 2009 Bourgogne is made from parcels in Vougeot and Morey, approximately 2/3 and 1/3 respectively. It is a sexy wine laced with radiant fruit, expressive aromatics and a generous personality.
