The Millot family has been working as winemakers in Meursault for four generations and today they operate a domaine that covers approximately 8 hectares. In 2010, Bernard and his wife Sylvie were joined by their son Emilien after he studied oenology at the Lycée Viticole de Mâcon Davayé. This Bourgogne Chardonnay is sourced from their 15-25-year-old vines buried in rocky, limestone-heavy soils. In the cellar, vinification is traditional: after direct pressing and settling for 12 to 24 hours, the juices are put into barrels where they ferment using indigenous yeasts. Expect notes of ripe yellow apples, preserved lemons, crushed rocks, almonds, vanilla bean and just a hint of baking spices.
