Blankiet Paradise Hills is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon-based Bordeaux blend which combines power and elegance in the classic `iron fist in a velvet glove` mould. Located in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains in a cooler part of the Napa Valley, Claude and Katherine Blankiet produce a range of wines from their Paradise Hills Vineyard. The longer ripening period offered by the east and south east-facing plots of this vineyard produce Bordeaux varieties with especially ripe tannins and deep colour, in addition to being deeply perfumed. "The 2016 Proprietary Red Paradise Hills Vineyard is magnificent. Deep and expressive on the palate, the 2016 possesses tremendous intensity but delivered in an understated voice. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and spice develop with time, but it is the wine’s total sense of poise that once again is truly impressive. All the elements are simply in the right place.
