Pošip, an authentically Croatian variety, was first unearthed a century and a half ago by a farmer residing in Smokvica village on the island of Korcula. Presently, this same locale serves as the home to Black Island Winery and boasts the finest Pošip vines. The grapes utilized in crafting this wine are sourced from 25 vineyards, each owned by local families who have cultivated grapes for numerous generations. As for Merga Victa, its grapes are meticulously handpicked from vineyards aged 15 years or more, originating from three distinct types of soil—red, sandy, and rocky. This method aims to uphold the wine`s perfect balance and harmony.
