This off-dry Riesling from the 2018 vintage offers a captivating nose, including crushed earth minerality, ripe lime, gooseberry, and stone fruit. The palate makes a bold entrance, creating an exhilarating experience. The intricate delicacy of its acidic backbone and mineral tension counterbalances this power, resulting in a well-balanced Spätlese that hits all the right notes.
- Musky, decadent lily and peony perfume as well as a hint of mint mingle with scents of very ripe pear and Persian melon. The palate is creamy and delicate, leading to a caressingly sustained finish so full of flowers that you practically have the impression of inhaling it. Like some of Thanisch’s other best 2018s, this is happily devoid of superficial sweetness.
