Benriach PX Cask 08037 Berry Brothers 2010

HED21102 70cl 60.7%
This 2010 vintage Benriach single malt spent two years finishing in an ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry butt, until being bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd. Its aroma profile is a vibrant tapestry of dry, spicy elements intertwined with traces of moist, aromatic gingerbread, reflective of its sherry influence. On the palate, the whisky doesn`t shy away from making a statement; it bursts forth with pepper nuances and the sweet elegance of plum wine, which makes it an ideal companion for indulgent desserts. A splash of water uncovers fruity and oak undertones, enhancing the overall tasting experience.

BenRiach

Located in Speyside and founded in 1898, BenRiach has a rich history and has been producing whisky for over a century. The distillery was closed for a period of time in the early 21st century, but was reopened in 2004. BenRiach is known for its innovative approach to whisky-making, combining traditional methods with modern techniques. The distillery sources its barley from local farms and uses water from nearby springs to create its whiskies.

The distillery produces a range of single malts, including unpeated, peated, and heavily peated expressions. Its signature whisky, the BenRiach 10 Year Old, is a classic Speyside single malt that is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It has a smooth and balanced flavor, with notes of vanilla, honey, and spice.
