Château Barde-Haut is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé property, currently managed by superstar wine couple, Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and Patrice Lévêque. Situated in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, the estate covers approximately 17 hectares, planted to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The 2000 vintage is in a good place right now, exhibiting notes of cassis, dark fruits, plus some old leather and hints of smoke, indicating its maturity.

Good medium ruby-red. Explosive nose combines cherry liqueur, woodsmoke, flowers and smoke. Sweet, fat and pliant but juicy and perfumed. Has the inner-mouth aromatic complexity and complete flavor development one would expect from a cool site that benefitted from a very warm growing season and harvest. Very sexy wine, finishing with big, palate-dusting tannins and excellent length.
