It is one of the three indigenous white grape varieties of the Azores, along with Verdelho and Arinto. The grape is known for its ability to thrive in the unique volcanic soil and maritime climate of the Azores. It produces wines that are typically dry, crisp, and refreshing. Terrantez do Pico wines can also be aged, and they develop complex flavours with time.
