Simply put, Chris Alheit is one of the most exciting winemakers from South Africa right now. He buys fruit from old vines across the Cape, making mostly single site wines that show brilliantly distinctive character with an abundance of texture, flavour and complexity. Nautical Dawn is a Chenin Blanc from two parcels close to the coast that has beautiful notes of guava, orange, yuzu, spice and honey. The palate is electric with delicious fruit, pinpoint acidity and a subtle saline twist to counter the wines natural richness.
