The 2020 Albis is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Carménère from Pirque, Maipo Alto. it was aged for 16 months in new French barrels. An intense purplish-red in color. The nose offers blackberry and blackcurrant with attractive hints of cedar, bay leaf and marjoram. Indulgent in the mouth, the terse tannins of the region structure the rich, intense palate before the long, fruity finish. Here, the winery has found a way to mitigate the effects of the warm year. - Joaquin Hidalgo
The inaugural release of Albis dates back to 2001, and it consistently originates from a careful selection of premier blocks within the Haras de Pirque vineyard, which faces the winery. Albis is a blend of Carménère and Cabernet, with the 2020 vintage comprising 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remainder being Carménère. The warmth of the season is palpable in this wine, which has always possessed a robust character. It is a release that will benefit from several years of bottle ageing.
