The Ahrens Family Winery was founded in 2008 by Albert and Heidi Ahrens. Albert has over 25 years of experience in winemaking, and has worked in Champagne, Priorat, and the Rhône Valley. The estate is based in the Paarl Valley and produces a range of wines from different grape varieties, including Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne and Grenache. ‘Black’ is a blend composed of mostly Syrah (approximately 70%), complemented by Carignan for balance, acidity and complexity. It is a rich, velvety red that will benefit from further ageing.
