Speyside Distillery
A Rarely Seen Speyside
Speyside Distillery was originally a barley mill with origins in the 1700s which closed in 1965. Over the following 25 years, the site was converted into a single malt whisky distillery, with the first spirit rolling off the stills in 1990. The distillery draws water from the river Tromie, a nearby tributary to the Spey and favours artisanal methods over industrial production. Rarely seen as a single malt under its own name, the distillery has recently gained attention for a series of bottlings for the Asian market under the "SPEY" label.
