Domaine Dugat-Py

A Respect for Tradition

Dugat Py use traditional techniques in the vineyard

Founded in the late 1980s by Pierre Dugat and now run by his son Bernard, Domaine Dugat-Py have swiftly risen to be recognised as one of the most exciting wineries in the Côte d'Or. Although Bernard produces excellent wines from the communes of Fixin and Pernand Vegelesses, Dugat-Py is primarily known for their excellent Gevrey-Chambertin, which run from Villages level all the way to Grand Cru. Vines are venerable, averaging 65 years, and all vineyard work is done in a traditional manner, including the use of a horse-drawn plough.

Dugat Py have been fully organic since 2003 and are moving towards biodynamic practices in some vineyards. Winemaking is low intervention and the wines are bottling without fining or filtration. The wines are matured in French oak barrels from renowned coopers François Frères and 100% new oak is used for the Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines.
