Domaine de la Grange des Pères
Languedoc’s limited, sought-after treasures
Domaine de la Grange de Pères is one of the most celebrated wine estates in the Languedoc region. The estate has gained a cult following and its wines are highly sought-after due to their limited production and exceptional quality. It was established in 1989 in Aniane – a stone's throw from Mas de Daumas Gassac – by the late Laurent Vaillé.
Having gained experience at such illustrious producers as Coche-Dury in Burgundy, Chave in Hermitage and Domaine Trévallon in Provence, Vaillé was known for his meticulous and passionate approach to winemaking. Sadly, Vaillé died in 2021 at the age of 57. His brother, Bernard, now manages the domain. Vineyards are farmed on biodynamic principles and just two wines are made: one white, made from Chardonnay, Roussanne and Marsanne with a small amount of Petit Manseng, and one red, typically Syrah and Mourvèdre, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Counoise.
