Weingut Hanspeter Ziereisen is located in the southern part of Baden, directly on the Rhine river at the border of Alsace and Switzerland. A producer of meticulous attention to detail, they specialise in Pinot Noir but also make small amounts of Syrah. This is an aromatic, pure and vibrant Syrah from the excellent 2016 vintage. It is black-fruited and peppery, with superfine tannins and wonderful, mineral-tinged length. This would be a superb match to roasted leg of lamb.
