Founded in 2002, Takamaka is the first rum producer in the Seychelles. The company was created by two brothers, Richard and Bernard d’Offay, who were determined to make rum with authenticity. Grankaz is a blend of pot-distilled cane rum aged in new French oak blended with 3-year-old ex-bourbon molasses rum and 8-year-old Bajan Foursquare molasses rum. The resulting spirit is slightly floral, with flavours of butterscotch, vanilla and oak tannins.
