Storm Vineyards have made a notable entry into South Africa`s fine wine arena, marking their debut vintage in 2014. Hannes Storm, formerly the head winemaker at Hamilton Russell, employs a gentle and less interventionist approach to create exquisite Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Vrede Pinot Noir hails from a steep, northeast-facing slope in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley with low-vigour, stony, clay-rich Bokkeveld shale soil. In spite of challenges within the country and restrictions on exports during the pandemic, South African winegrowers experienced a highly successful 2021 vintage, boasting an abundant crop.
