Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

For longer than six decades, Ridge has been recognised as one of the most significant producers of consistently high-quality wines in California. The Monte Bello Cabernet comes from their oldest Santa Cruz Mountains vineyards and is undoubtedly the flagship wine. 1996 was an incredible vintage and this is an exceptional release composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot. Full-bodied, immensely powerful and exuberant, it exudes superb notes of crème de cassis, tobacco, tilled earth, violet flowers and woody spices. A powerhouse release that will almost certainly rank amongst the greatest iterations of this legendary wine.
