2006 was a fantastic vintage in California and the flagship Bordeaux blend, Les Pavots, of iconic producer, Peter Michael Winery, is an absolutely stunning release. Composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot from the Knights Valley AVA, this is now perfect for drinking. Though deeply black fruit driven, aeration reveals wonderfully complex savoury nuances of cocoa, vanilla, griddled herbs, black tea and graphite.
