Les Deux Cols is a collaborative project between Simon Tyrell, Ireland’s leading Rhône wine importer, and Charles Derain, previously sommelier to Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Paris. Ô Font is a blend of 85% Grenache with Terret Noir, Clairette, Clairette Rose and Bourboulenc from 45-year-old vines situated above the village of Saint Gervais, in the lesser-known department of Gard. Maturation is short at around 6 months and is done in a combination of tank and 500-litre barrels. Pale red in colour, it offers up aromas of red cherries, raspberries and pink pepper. On the palate it is light-bodied, silky and delicate, with a fine thread of acidity and a long, lingering finish.
