Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges Les St Georges 1999 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les St Georges in the Nuits-St-Georges appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Gradually formed through several generations, Domaine Henri Gouges covers 15 hectares across 10 appellations – among them 7 Premiers Crus, 3 Bourgognes and 2 Villages. Henri Gouges himself created the Domaine in the 1920s, becoming one of the first growers in Burgundy to sell wine under his own name. This Nuits-Saint-Georges Village is made with fruit from 5 vineyards. the Plateaux, Belles Croix, Fleurières, Brûlées and the Chaliots. These wines are typically generous and fruit-forward but do need to rest for a few years to fully blossom.
