Neta Tepextate is a small-batch Mezcal produced from 100% wild-harvested Tepextate agave in Miahuatlán, in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. Neta was established by Niki Nakazawa, Max Rosenstock and Yuskei Murayama, who work with small family farmers from Logoche, in the Miahuatlán district of Oaxaca. Double-distilled, with a select cut of high-proof liquid from the first round of distillation (referred to as `shishe macizo`), used to lower the final alcohol content of the heads and hearts selected from the rectification in the second distillation. Around 10l of shishe macizo was used to compose a total of 60l of spirit with a strength of 50.7%.
